Tengo klamav-0.30.3 (Gentoo)
Error al hacer Update database virus:

No tengo gentoo, pero si clamav.
Es un a aviso a que te actualices a una nueva version de clamav y desde kde no lo puede hacer. Con otra distro tengo el mismo problema, lo quize hacer a mano, pero todavía no está para ella. Quizas ese sea tu problema, prueba en los repo correspondientes ubicar clamv 0.88.4
klmav: front end grafico
clamav: motor
freshclam: actualiza base
Supongo klamav te actualiza la base usando un motor clamav "no ultimo grito" pero que funciona.
ademas pordrias revisar los seteos de freshclam, cuando lo corres a mano debe actualizar una base en otra ubicación del disco.

antes que nada hace un rc-update show, y pasame el resultado.... leyendo por internet, encontre en el bugtracker de red-hat el reporte de un bug parecido, lo que recomendaban erra reinstalar clamav de welta y klamav tb... pero este último usa ~x86
saludos.....
PD: te dejo mi configuración del clamav, fijate si la tenes paresida....
